My name is Dharma although I don't really know my name yet,  I was found wandering the streets all alone.  I'm a mini black/tn long hair female approx.6yrs  old.  I must be among the sweetest dogs in the world so they keep telling me, I'm one very big snuggle bum, I just love love love to be loved.  I'm going for a dental real soon as they say my teeth aren't soo good, I already knew that though but they say I'm going to get all fixed up and ready for a great new home. !! Is that you ??  I will be ready for adoption in a couple three weeks so if you are interested in me ask I would love to find a home that can appreciate my gentle loving soul.  I'm told I should be treated like a queen.  I would prefer a home without kids as they frighten me I would like a calm gentle home as I am a calm gentle girl.

Update on Dharma:  I am now ready to go to a new home, I've had a big dental and been spayed ,  I've started eating again and have put on weight.  To adopt me please fill out an adoption app. and send it in.

update #2 on Dharma:  I went to a great foster home where it was discovered that I'm super scared of men, I clung to the woman of the house like glue but wouldn't let the men of the house love me, they were all very nice to me but I was scared so everyone knows who is interested in my I'm a ladies dog, still looking for that calm gentle home to sooth my fearful nature.

Hi I"m sophia, I'm a 2yr old mini red long hair.  I've very timid and shy and will take time to get to know anyone new.  I get very intimidated by large scary people or small people that move fast.   I will not be suitable for a family with kids due to my timid nature.   Once I do warm up I am very loving and snuggly I would love a gentle home that knows how to give boundries and get me over my fears and love me of course.

updated bio on Lalo: Lalo is a 2.5 yr. old red tweenie. Lalo is in now at the clipper club with the other dachshunds, he is doing very well here, he has been with as many as 9 other little dogs in play groups and gets along with all small - med. sized dogs.  He will get along with larger dogs but doesn't prefer them, if he gets intimdated or worried he will try and get them as he gets the" little dogs syndrome " where he thinks he is bigger than he acutally is.   He loves the kids to pieces but doesn't love strangers as once again big people intimidate him, it usually doesn't take long for hime to warm up and come around to liking them but initially strangers scare him.  Someone along the line must have taught him not to talk to strangers.  He is however I find to be the sweetest, most loving and absolutely drop dead gorgeous boy going.  I prefer him to go to a home with dachshund experience, he is a very typical dachshund who needs structure and discipline and someone more stubborn than the dog.  When spoiled rotten this dog tends to regress and become growly and ill mannored, with structure this is the nicest dog I've met in a while.

My name is Pig, I'm a 14yr old mini red dachshund.  I'm looking for someone who doesn't mind a tiny little old man that is not feeling too good but just wants someone to love me for the rest of my days, I'm a happy little boy even though I have an enlarged heart with a gr. 4 heart murmer and am on the skinny side,  I still get along good, wag my tail all the time , am happy to see people, easy going and love to snuggle.  If you want to perminatly foster me or adopt me for the rest of my days I'll be here waiting.  I'm not worried though they are loving me to pieces here too. 
UPDATE ON PIG
Although I am in permanant foster care , if the right family came along I would consider adopting him,  He would need a senior couple or family with no kids and at least one other small dog he could be with all the time, he needs someone home most of the  time that he can follow around.  He is a sick boy but is doing remarkably well and has lots of get up and go in him.  He may not live a long time , but who knows the way he runs around he may have another year or two or three left.

My name is Beasley, I'm a 4ish yr. old mini brindle short haired dachshund.  I was found a stray , I'm thin and scared and have scarrs on my back side , someone was not so nice to me.  I'm hoping my next life will be better where I can get treated like I deserve.  I'm in a foster home in Red Deer where I'm being taught that not all people are so bad, they are loving me better.   Keep watching as I'm sure my update will show that I am doing much better and getting much happier.

My name is Shiloh, I'm a 1.5yr old dachshund mix possibly min pin.  I'm red in color and a cute as can be.  My foster mom calls me a pocket dog as I'm so tiny, I would love nothing more than to be carried around all day and on your lap when you are sitting.  I'm only 6lbs of pure love.  I have never been taught a thing from my previous life and would be a start from scratch dog but I'm well worth it, just wait till they put up my pic. you will fall in love instantly.  I only want to be loved " will you love me"  
Shiloh would do best in a home with another dog due to his insecurities.
update on shiloh:  he is not such a start from scratch dog anymore he is doing very well with his housetraining, if he has another dog to follow he won't make any messes in the house, he loves people and other small dogs and is ready to join your family.

Chopper is new to the rescue...He is just over 4 1/2 yrs old, UTD on all vaccinations and neutered.. As he is a Basset/Dachshund cross he will stay on the smaller side. Chopper is a very social dog and loves to be with people. He does well with other dogs although he tends to think he is the boss. Chopper can be a bit of a clown and the more attention he can get the better. As a hound he can be stubborn, but we have found that a lot of patients and positive reinforcement goes along way.
Chopper is very affectionate and always ready for a snuggle. Any chance he gets to curl up under a blanket, in a spot of sunshine or near a warm fire he takes. He has also never turned down a meal! Chopper is not picky about what he eats and doesn't always make the best "snack" choices.
Chopper has a strong personality and many wonderful traits, in the right environment there is no end to the love he has to give. Chopper will not be placed in a home with small children as he has recently shown a little unease in his current family with the new baby.
