Simon & Toby
Simon & Toby were a bonded pair of senior boys who came to ADR needing a full medical workup, extensive dentals (they are now toothless) as well as surgery to remove and test a lump. Sometimes seniors are difficult to find a home for and finding a home for two together can be a challenging task. We were so happy when we found the best family ever who wanted to adopt and love them!

Stitch
Do you remember Stitch, the sweet 15-year old picked up by the Edmonton Humane Society found living with squatters in an abandoned house? We profiled him back in November 2018, and mentioned he had several serious health issues. To be honest, we weren’t sure what his prognosis would be. But not only did he get adopted, but he’s currently living life to its fullest. Look at just how happy he looks in this recent photo!

Opie
“I adopted Opie in November after losing my min pin Zoey. She was 16 years old. Opie and I have been inseparable since he arrived. He is doing great and I believe Opie is very happy. Managing all his medication due to his having lupus is time consuming but the love and affection he showers me with makes it all worth while.”

Ernie & Newton
"Hello! I wanted to send you an update on Ernie & Newton. It's been nearly 2 years since they've joined our family. At age 12, they're both thriving & healthy seniors. Newton reminds us that he has solid Doxie prey drive as he shakes his favourite toy ferociously on a daily basis. Ernie has a new kitten-sister that he loves to snuggle with and sometimes even play tag with. They love their kids more than anything & are thrilled to have extra laps to sit on when extra friends come over. I've never owned more loving & intuitive dogs. It's been a difficult past year, due to the loss of my children's father, but Newton & Ernie have been their very best friends through it all, always offering snuggles & unconditional love.
Newton has had 2 bouts of back/neck pain but has recovered quickly with excellent vet & chiropractic care. Ernie is robust and healthy, and is always so cheerful & busy. We couldn't possibly love them more & cannot imagine our lives without them. The joy & comfort they have brought to our family has been immeasurable. We have had such a wonderful adoption journey with them,I wouldn't hesitate to adopt through ADR in the future. Thank you for bringing them into our family.” - Arie Brentnall-Compton |
