ways to support adr

Thank you for considering supporting Alberta Dachshund Rescue! We can always use volunteers! More hands make the work lighter and enable us to help more dogs. ADR sometimes need volunteers to transport dogs to the vet or from foster home to new home. We need people to do reference checks and home visits. We often need people to represent ADR at annual events such as the Calgary or Edmonton Pet Expo, Wienerpawlooza in Calgary, or Muttstock in Edmonton which help us build awareness and raise funds.
Alberta Dachshund Rescue can always use dog food, treats, leashes, collars, harnesses, old towels & blankets, wee wee pads, cleaning supplies, newspapers, crates, and more. Almost any dog items you are no longer need, we can find a use for! If you have something you would like to donate, please drop it off at our adoption events anytime or contact us and we will try to arrange pick up. Thank you!!!
Foster a dachshund
Thank you to everyone who has volunteered to be a foster home! Because we already have so many wonderful foster homes across the province, ADR is currently NOT accepting any new adoption applications at this time. Keep an eye on this page and follow us on Facebook for any changes!
Our most pressing need is for foster homes. We will have had more than 50 dogs surrendered to us this year. That is a lot of dachshunds! If you have any interest in providing a temporary home for a surrendered dachshund, contact us and we will send you a package of information that will help you decide if fostering is something you want to do. If you have already decided you would like to foster, please fill out the foster application below.
The application form will take 15-20 minutes to complete and will require the following information:

- At least two references in addition to your vet. We are looking for individuals who can provide us with information about your suitability as a foster home. Please provide full name, telephone number(s), and relationship for all references.
The following rescue foster application form is quite lengthy and can't be saved if you don't finish in one sitting. Take a look through before you start to fill the adoption form out to make sure you have all of the information ready to input.
